Let’s Right this Wrong Program
(Awareness for Children Living in the Calabar Dump Site in partnership with Hope for the Street Kid)
This campaign was designed to create awareness of the living conditions, exposure to and participation in crime, and immoral standards of the Street Kids.
We successfully created awareness among the Cross River State Government, and the Local and International Communities respectively about the (109) children that lived in the Calabar Dump Site in 2017.
Other discoveries include;
The program also drew attention to
Adolescent mothers, health hazards, prevalent diseases etc that exist amongst these children
The children had cells controlled by leaders across different parts of Calabar. These cells include The Mary Slessor/Bogobiri Cell, The Marian Atekong Cell, The Efio Ete Junction Cell, and The Girls only Cell in Bay Side.
We discovered that they are well organised with a command structure, norms, rules and methods of operating.
